These terms cover nihov.org and directory.nihov.org, the Worldwide Directory of Coptic Orthodox Churches, Monasteries, Dioceses and Clergy. By using either site you agree to them. The Privacy Policy is the companion to this page and covers what we collect and why.
What these sites are
Both sites are a free reference service, run by volunteers, for the Coptic Orthodox community. They are not an official publication of any diocese or of the Holy Synod. Nothing here should be taken as speaking for the Church.
Accuracy
Directory records are compiled from church websites, diocesan announcements, and corrections sent in by readers. We check what we can, but we cannot guarantee that every address, phone number, service time or clergy assignment is current. Confirm with the church directly before you travel. If you find an error, please use the update link on the record or the feedback form.
What you may do
Read, search, link to and share the directory freely. Use a record's contact details to reach that church for the purposes a church publishes them for.
What you may not do
- Harvest email addresses or phone numbers from the directory for bulk mailing, marketing, or resale.
- Copy the directory wholesale to republish it as your own.
- Submit corrections you know to be false.
- Attempt to access accounts, moderation tools, or data that are not offered to you.
Corrections you send us
When you submit a correction or a new record, you are telling us it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that we may publish it. Corrections from the public are reviewed by a moderator before they are published.
Links to other sites
Church and diocesan websites linked from the directory belong to their owners. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content.
No warranty
The sites are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep them available and accurate, and we do not promise either. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of them.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them.
