In order to maintain the spirit of the retreat, we need to make sure everyone is on the same page with what we expect from each other. Basically there are two main goals to this retreat, in no particular order, and that is, to take a good dose of reviving spiritual goodness and to have a good old time with each other. So with that in mind, we ask that each of us take a look at the following list of expectations and keep them in mind for the days we spend together.
- The purpose of this retreat is to establish and nurture Christian fellowship. Accordingly, attendance in all meetings, activities, prayer, and the Holy Divine Liturgy is MANDATORY.
- Bring your copy of the Holy Bible, Agpeya, and any spiritual books you would like to read during your free time.
- Appropriate attire is required for all meetings, prayer and the Divine Liturgy, sports and leisure activities.
- For your safety, no one is allowed to leave the retreat grounds without specific permission.
- We would like you to enjoy clean accommodations. Therefore, food or drinks are allowed in the bedrooms but must be cleaned up accordingly. Please discard all packages and containers properly.
- We would like you to enjoy an atmosphere appropriate for a spiritual convention. Accordingly, no smoking or consumption of alcoholic beverages is allowed at any time during the retreat. Finally, please turn off all cell phones during meetings, prayers, and services.
- Before departing on the final day, please strip the beds and place the sheets and towels inside the pillow case and place it outside your door. There will be further instructions concerning this from retreat ground facilitators the night before departure.
- No males or females are allowed to visit each others' floors/buildings. This applies to everyone, even brothers and sisters, husbands and wives, and fiancés.
- We recommend you do not bring any valuables to the retreat.
- PLEASE NOTE: Any disorderly conduct that limits the other participants' right to enjoy the spiritual retreat may lead to your expulsion from this retreat and/or subsequent ones. In addition, you will be held responsible for any financial damages caused by your misconduct.
